Our recommended children’s read for this week is The Snow Day by Komako Sakai.
Synopsis:The Snow Day by Komako Sakai is a beautiful, quiet book that celebrates the unexpected holiday: a day off from school because of snow. With simple, rhythmic text and warm, endearing illustrations, this book will make your little one long for a day off from school just to cozy up and read it with you.
Why We Love It: It’s winter and while there are heaps of Christmas books for kids, it’s harder to find one that isn’t tied to the holiday. This one evokes the feelings of being a child in a wintry world.

This morning Heidi Klum was on Good Morning America to promote her new collections for A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity. We love Heidi and are normally impressed with her fashion choices, but when she showed off a maternity unitard during the segment we couldn’t help but raise our eyebrows. In the same way we find jumpers impractical because of the hindrance they pose to the simple task of using the restroom, we couldn’t help but ask, “How the heck are you supposed to pee in that thing?!” We’re talking a skintight one-piece that covers you from bust to mid-thigh. Check it out:
If you’ve ever been pregnant, you know how strong (and frequently) the urge to use the restroom comes on, so we have no idea why anyone would make it that much harder for us to do our business. We’re hoping it has snaps or buttons or something down there for the sake of all our expectant moms out there. If you’re looking for a stylish pair of maternity leggings to pair with a tunic that give great belly coverage, we recommend these by Ingrid & Isabel. That unitard makes us very nervous.
Yes, that’s Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ little girl, Suri. She was snapped with mom and dad at the Superbowl this weekend. The stylish tot was fashion-forward in headband that would make Blair Waldorf proud. Get this lookalike one for your little fashionista.
Check back every day for your daily aww fix-something so cute you’ll “Aww...” out loud.
