Deal of the Day: Stock Up on Summer Tanks for $5 and Up

Category: Deal of the Day

imageimageimageimage

I don’t know where you live, but it was smoking hot in my neighborhood this past weekend—I’m talking about record-breaking triple digits.  The AC was cranked up high, and we wore as little as possible to try to stay cool.  If you’re like me and have gone through your entire collection of summer tanks in one week alone, you better stock up for what looks like a long, hot summer ahead.  Good thing for Old Navy’s Summer Loving Sale where you can score camis, halters, racerbacks, embellished tanks and more starting at just five bucks.

left to right: Pointelle Lounge Cami ($10); Sequin-Trim Cami ($8); Jersey Knit Halters ($10); Garment-Dyed Pintucked Cami ($10)

Get Your Deal: oldnavy.com

Tip: The sale includes items for the entire family, so get shopping.

Big Hair is Back: How to Steal Angelina Jolie’s Look

Category: Celebrities Mom

Angelina Jolie Big Hair

Once you get past Angelina Jolie’s mom-to-be cleavage on the cover of this month’s Vanity Fair, you can’t help but notice her very big hair. Apparently, “big hair” is making a comeback. However, except for Jolie and a model or two, this is a tough look to pull off. I’m talking about you Amy Winehouse.

But if you’re inspired to go big, follow these steps:
  • Towel-dry your hair and apply a volumizing mousse at your roots and then spread it through your hair.
  • Blow dry with a round brush.
  • Now separate your hair into four sections, at the crown, left, right and back.
  • For each section get two to three medium-sized rollers (you remember them) and roll the hair toward your scalp. Take them out after 15 minutes, flip your head upside down and finger-brush.
  • Finally, flip it back over and brush out and finish with a touch of hairspray.
That’s how you do it, but we can’t tell you how to find the time to do this “Do” and how to keep those little hands off your big hair.

Summer Find: Aveeno Active Naturals Moisture Lotion with Sunscreen

Category: Mom Bath and Body Summer

Aveeno

What: Aveeno Active Naturals Moisture Lotion with Sunscreen

Why: It’s hard enough to remember to use an SPF on your face every day, let alone your arms, legs, neck and chest. Aveeno’s new lotion with built-in sunscreen makes post-shower SPF-ing a no-brainer. Moisturizes for a full 24 hours and gives the added protection of SPF15 for daily life. Great for husbands who REFUSE to entertain the thought of sunscreen but won’t think twice about using the lotion if it’s in the bathroom. Smart move.
