Baby Find: We Heart Pluto Tees
Category:
Children's Fashion
What: Pluto Tees
Why: We can all spot an “I Heart NY” tee from a mile away, but these new Pluto baby tees and bodysuits will make you look twice. Instead of the iconic heart, they’ve used an image of a stroller so you end up with a very cute “
I Stroll NY.” Dress your baby in it the next time you take a stroll, and I guarantee you won’t make it far without someone paying you a compliment.
Don’t stroll in NY? They also have tees for Brooklyn, Chicago and L.A.
Price: $20

Movie Find: America Loves “Baby Mama” and So Do We
Category:
Movies
There weren’t many men in the audience when I saw “Baby Mama” this weekend, but it still was number one at the box office, bringing in more than $18 million. The PG-13 comedy stars Tina Fey as Kate, a 37-year-old, single career woman who decides she wants to have a baby “NOW.” When after several attempts, her doctor tells her she has a “one-in-a-million” chance of getting pregnant because of a “T-shaped uterus,” she goes through an agency to hire Angie, played by Saturday Night Live’s Amy Poehler, as a surrogate mother.
“Baby Mama” isn’t hysterical, but it’s pretty funny, especially in the scenes with Kate and Angie, who have very different ideas about pre-natal care. Kate is obsessed with healthy eating and
safety, and pregnant Angie wants to eat junk food, drink Dr. Pepper and color her hair. There’s a great scene involving giant
pre-natal vitamins
(remember those?) and something called the “Hetus” which is a lot like
“The Empathy Belly”. There’s even time for romance and Steve Martin who’s terrific as Kate’s very new age boss.
My advice is to leave the kids with dad and go see “Baby Mama” with friends. When it’s over, you’ll definitely want to hang out and share your own baby stories.
