Baby Find: Fisher-Price for the Zen Baby (and Mama)

Why: My son was a Fisher-Price baby. If he wasn’t bouncing in a Jumperoo, he was entertaining himself in a Take-Along Swing or relaxing in a Rocker (which also worked wonders when he was constipated—something about the vibrations). And although he was completely content with all the bright colors, there were times I wish they weren’t so bright.

A CSA, (for Community Supported Agriculture) is a way for an individual to develop a relationship with a farm and to receive a weekly basket of the fresh produce. People actually become “members” (or “shareholders” or “subscribers") of the CSA. Recipes for Your Veggies: Since I live in the Bay Area, I get to go to Greens Restaurant for Mother’s Day Brunch. If you don’t, (or even if you do) you can enjoy some of these wonderful recipes at home with their cookbooks. My personal favorite is Fields of Greens ($21.42).

Cheese, Glorious Cheese ($210 for three months): It was my own mother-in-law who first introduced us to the Cheese of the Month Club. The expert fromagers at Artisinal Cheese choose three amazing varieties of cheese and deliver them to your doorstep each month.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate ($9.95 per pound): Every year my grandmother sends a pound of these incredible, old-fashioned candies. There is nothing fancy about them; they’re honestly made from the freshest ingredients. I strongly recommend the Chocolate French Mint.
