La Blanca by Rod Beattie Terry Dress ($58): In the summer I’m with my kids swimming at the pool, beach or lake almost everyday. I cannot get enough cover-ups. This one is really cute and I dig the Terry fabric. If anyone is reading this I’d like it in all three colors.

Lady’s Slipper Orchid for my woodland garden. I’m focusing on native plants and have been lusting after this gorgeous one for years. When purchasing any native plant you want to make sure you’re getting it from a reputable vendor, to assure it wasn’t dug up from the wild. White Flower Farm has some available for $85.

Vintage Prints: In fancy interior shops I’ve loved the look of vintage natural history prints such as flowers or insects. I’ve always thought I’d order several inexpensively on eBay and then frame them and have a designer look for a reasonable price. Yet have I done this? No. I even own a mat cutter that has been gathering dust since I had kids. So I’d love someone else to do it. Order some great prints, frame them and hang them on my wall. I love these butterflies. Since they are being auctioned they will be gone soon, but Haystack Treasures has many more lovely prints. Auctions start at around $16.

A Flawless Face. I’d bet stoked to have a flawless face without makeup, but since that’s not happening I’d love to get all new Laura Mercier makeup to make me look like I have one. Bosch 800 Series Nexxt Washer: An unglamorous choice I know, but my washer is old and keeps on breaking. Half the dials are busted so I need a wrench to switch the water temperature. Consumer Reports Greener Choices gives this one good ratings, so I would not return it if it showed up on Sunday.

MomFarah’s Mother’s Day Wish List

A Relaxing Vacation: I’ll go to any tropical place where I can sip a Strawberry Daquiri and watch the sunset in peace. That’s not going to happen this weekend so I’ll settle for LIFE’s Dream Destinations: The World’s 100 Greatest Places to Vacation. It’ll help me narrow down the choices for my family’s next getaway.

MBT Sandals: I have the MBT sneakers and love them, so I’d like to try out the sandals and walk off some pounds at the beach.

Chic Sunglasses: Surprise, surprise…I lost another pair. I need some new sunnies for all the trips to the playground and the drive time in between.

Maid Service: I try to keep my home neat and organized, but it’s a never-ending job. I’d be more than happy to pass the job on to someone else, even if it’s just once or twice per month.

DadFinds Friday: Slate from Banana Republic Looks as Great as it Smells

What: Slate Eau de Toilette from Banana Republic

Why: When it comes to choosing a fragrance, I’ve always tried not to be swayed by the bottle. However if it comes down to Perfume A or Perfume B, I’ll go with the more appealing package. But I have to admit that opening Banana Republic’s Slate cologne for men, all I could think was “I hope this smells as good as it looks.” The black natural wood box is so good looking you’ll want to keep it for storage. The heavy square bottle has a black and silver top and is simply classic and elegant.

OK, so I’m sold on the look of Slate, but what about the scent? It’s very cool, predominantly citrus with notes of ginger and sage. It’s on the light side, and makes me think of the outdoors, maybe the beach, a great scent for a guy who prefers clean and green. And again, trust me, if you want to wow him from the get-go, Slate will do it.

1. Cookbook Holder. You know, so I don’t have to wedge the pages open with a can of coconut milk while I’m measuring out the curry ingredients.

2. Jeans that fit: It’s hard to find jeans that flatter my post-baby tummy. I’m sick to death of low-rise, which wasn’t even that flattering on me in the first place. Also, I need the time to spend shopping for them. Unaccompanied.

3. Tempurpedic bed: Yeah, this one’s a little over the top, but it doesn’t hurt to hope.

4. Honda Pilot: And you thought the mattress was a splurge…
