Father’s Day Find: A Gift to Smile About
Category: Father's Day Dad
What: Ultreo: The Ultrasound Toothbrush
Why: Although you may think giving your man a toothbrush to Father’s Day is just asking for a toaster for your birthday, I suggest that you reconsider. First of all, consider how hard the guy is to buy for. Secondly, think of how much he loves gadgets. The Ultreo is a power toothbrush that uses ultrasound technology to deep-clean teeth. And Popular Science just named the Ultreo one of their “must have” products in their June issue, giving it major geek cred. Trust me, any gadget junkie will be chomping at the bit (har har) to try out the Ultreo, which has an ultrasound transducer built right in the middle of the brush head.
Of course, I first tested it out myself. Unlike other power brushes I’ve used, the Ultreo was nice and quiet, and gentle on my teeth and gums. After just one use, I felt like I had just had a professional cleaning, without the dreaded dental visit. After about two weeks of use, I noticed that my teeth appeared whiter and that my teeth felt cleaner longer. The Ultreo works by using ultrasound wave technology to get into microscopic crevices in your teeth that you pretty much can’t get to without a professional cleaning. But possibly most superficially, I love the Ultreo because it is so beautifully designed, and looks elegant sitting on our bathroom vanity. As far as I’m concerned, this is the perfect Father’s Day gift for the hard-to-buy-for Dad.
