Oprah says you might be a Shlumpadinka if...you go shopping in your PJs or wear your husband’s sweatpants or if your kids run and hide when you pick them up at school. On Wednesday’s show, Oprah and stylist Lloyd Boston made several Shlumpadinkas “Give up the frump” and turn in their mom jeans, sweats and overalls (yes overalls), for comfy but attractive casual clothes.
The main idea behind these makeovers was to get these busy moms not into pricey designer clothes, but into reasonably priced outfits from stores like
Kohls,
Old Navy
and
Gap
.

One former Shlumpadinka worked the Oprah stage in this cropped safari shirt/jacket from
Old Navy
(on sale for $29.50) with black
yoga pants
. She topped off the look with this great
hobo
that’s big in size and personality. A steal for $19.99.

Another looked like a million bucks in a $59.50 black dress from
Gap
. She paired it with her
own knee-high boots with black leggings and a cute scarf. Don’t have black boots in your closet? Steal the look with these
Nine West Boots
on sale for $77.32. And go crazy with the
scarves
. You can find some for as little as $9.50 at
Old Navy
.
Boston also talked about the
10 things EVERY woman should have in their closet. Living in Florida, I kind of object to the
turtleneck
and
cashmere sweater
requirement, and I can’t even imagine keeping a
white denim jacket
clean. But who’s going to argue about the necessity of fabulous
black pants
and a
black skirt
. I have plenty of both.
