Forget Finding The Perfect Pair Of Jeans….Every Pair Looks Great with Booty Pop Panties
Category: Mom Fashion Underwear
What: Booty Pop Panties
Why: I have four kids. Need I say more? My once firm and cute “lady lumps” are now a little bit lower and a lot flatter, making every pair of jeans I own less flattering. I’ve tried the lotions, potions and tush exercising motions, but nothing has made a quicker improvement than the amazing Booty Pop Panties.
I was a bit skeptical at first. I thought they would make me look fat or lumpy, but I was surprisingly impressed. Like padded bras for sagging breasts, these padded panties lift your bottom and give it a nice rounded shape. I couldn’t stop asking everyone I saw “How does my butt look?” I didn’t tell my family I was wearing it out to dinner and also to a baseball game, so I was excited to hear my husband and sister compliment me on how well my jeans fit. I may not need to wear them everyday, but I will when I need a little pick me up.
Available in seven bootylicious colors, in Sweet (S), Sweeter (M) and Sweetest (L).
Price: $28

Style Solution: Say Goodbye to the Dreaded VPL
Category: Mom Fashion Underwear
What: Soma Vanishing Edge Underwear
Why: Not being a big fan of the thong, whenever a panty promises a line-free silhouette, I perk up. I have two pairs of pants that I love and can finally fit into again, but I don’t wear them because of the dreaded visible panty line. So far none of the thong alternatives have lived up to their promise.
So, when I saw that Soma’s new Vanishing Edge collection promised to “erase lines forever,” I thought what the heck, and guess what! These panties deliver. I tried the microfiber bikini and the hipster and they’re super comfortable and light. Just make sure you order a size up as the Web site suggests.
But the stay-where-you’re-supposed-to secret is in a thin layer of silicone at the leg openings. You don’t feel it, but it keeps the panties from budging an inch. I rescued my skinny pants from the closet and put them on over the Vanishing Edge and sure enough, not a panty line in sight. I’m sold.
Price: $12 or 3 for $27

Find the Right Swimsuit Without the Stress
Category: How To Mom Fashion
We know, shopping for a swimsuit is pretty low on your list of ways to have a good time, somewhere south of potty training and doing five miles on the treadmill. But there are ways to make it less stressful. Before you give up or commit to the wrong suit, check out these tips we took from Amy Cafazzo, style expert at Marshalls.
When it comes to bathing suits, size doesn’t matter. It’s the fit that counts. Make sure your one-piece fits without puckering near the seams without any pulling at the straps, bust or crotch. Make sure the suit doesn’t dig in at the leg openings or the straps. If it does, go up a size or look for a suit with adjustable straps. Check out the coverage around your bust, move around to make sure you’re comfortable. If you’re pulling at the suit in the dressing room, you’ll be pulling at the pool.
Lands’ End is legendary for its options in fit and style. You plug in your body type, size, the bra and coverage you want, even your anxiety zones and you’ll get a selection of swimsuits that meet your requests. It’s actually kind of fun. You really can’t go wrong with this bright paisley Tankini/Skirt Set ($89.50). It’s designed for comfort, coverage and lengthens your legs. The fabric even provides SPF 50 sun protection.
Feeling a little daring, but not quite ready to bare your tummy? The good news is that the one-piece is in especially if it has an unusual touch like a single strap, keyhole or cut-outs like this Ralph Lauren suit ($117).
This season look for color, graphic prints, bold designs and animal prints, and if the suit promises to take off 10 pounds like this Miraclesuit® ($134) even better.
Finally, if you’ve lost your baby weight in time for beach season, congrats and celebrate with a two-piece. Look for one with ruffles or a belt detail like this Merona hipster bottom from Target ($17.99). You can pair it with the most flattering top for your figure and choose from many colors and patterns.

Mom Find: A Fab Shirt for the 40 Something Mom
Category: Mom Fashion
What: 40 Something T-Shirts
Why: I’m not gonna lie. Not that long ago I turned the big 4-0 and I wasn’t too happy about it. Yes, I know Halle Berry, Demi Moore, Sandra Bullock and Brooke Shields are all over 40 and oh-so-fabulous, but when your first digit goes from a three to a four, it’s a bit rough.
I wish back then I had the attitude of the two women who founded 40somethingtshirts.com. The black shirts and nightshirts have uplifting and fun messages like 40 Something and ... Hot... Happy...and my personal favorite, Groovy. There’s even a 40 Something and a Survivor shirt for breast cancer survivors.
So, if you are a mom who’s 40something and Fit, Blessed or Loving It, or if you know one, check these shirts out. There are also interesting articles and a list of those 40 and fabulous celebrities on the site, like Julia Roberts. Now I do feel better.
Price: $21 - $25

Earth Day Find: This Message T-shirt Feels Amazing and is Eco-Friendly
Category: Eco-Friendly Mom Fashion
What: Bamboo T-shirts from Affirm-Aware.org
Why: If you’ve always wanted to try bamboo, you could not do any better than starting with a positive affirmation T-shirt from Affirm-Aware. First, it is without a doubt the most comfortable shirt I have ever put on. If I had to choose between my 20-year-old, washed 1000 times festival T-shirt or this bamboo tee, I’d choose the bamboo. And talk about eco-friendly, bamboo is a sustainable plant, growing all over the place. The designs are printed in the U.S. with no dye waste and sewn in a sweatshop-free facility in China.
The designs are totally unique. Inside the butterfly is a message printed in a mirror image made especially for the wearer to read. Affirmations include, “Love is all There is” and “I am an Instrument of Peace.”
And it doesn’t stop there. Affirm-Aware donates 10% of its net proceeds to organizations like “Room to Read” and offers lots of eco tips and other info on its Web site.
Price: $38 and enter special Momfinds discount code MF152008 for a 15% discount on any item.
