Fashions For Charity: Star 50 Handbags Donates to Make It Right Foundation
Category:
Philanthropy
What: Star 50 Handbags
Why: Make It Right Foundation was created back in 2006. Brad Pitt organized the group of experts to plan and design new, affordable and “green” homes for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. This organization’s goal is to build 150 new homes. Star 50 Handbags has partnered with them to donate 5% of their sales from the
Louisiana Market Sac ($96).
I personally love the quality and size of the bag. It is the perfect bag for carrying around a laptop and files or fruits and vegetables from the market...I should know, I did both. The other handbags in the collection are amazing as well. My second favorite would have to be the
Texas Star Clutch....I’m a Texan! That is why these handbags make perfect gifts or personal accessories; you can look good while representing your state and helping others.

Holiday Find: Give a Bracelet that Gives Back
Category:
Holidays Jewelry Philanthropy
What: Beaded Bracelets by Angela Moore
Why: There is a bracelet for everyone at
Angela Moore - golfers, cat lovers, chefs, travelers, beach babies. You name it, they have a bead for it. But ‘tis the season for giving - and giving back, so I really like the bracelets that support causes I care about.
There are bracelets for
Breast and Ovarian Cancer Awareness, a
puzzle bead bracelet that sends 15% of the proceeds to the Autism Society of America and many others. My favorite is
The Golden Rule, a bracelet with beads painted with an apple, letters, pencils and a chalkboard that would be the perfect gift for a teacher with a donation going to the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship.
Price: $50

Deal Alert: Order by November 30 and receive a free travel pouch and shipping if you order two bracelets.

Global Fund for Children. They’ll also be offering
exclusively designed shirts and bodysuits, with 100% of the proceeds from these items going to the GFC. Tea’s philosophy, “for little citizens of the world” is delicately written across the front of each item and the long sleeved shirt quietly states “thank you” on the left wrist. The

Tea Collection has also partnered with

Together they’ve produced nine stunning holiday cards, each more beautiful than the next. Shop Pink: The Best (and Cutest) $2.99 You Can Spend
Category:
Celebrities Philanthropy
What: Pink Message Ducks at Munchkin.com
Why: This time of year we get messages to remind our friends to get their annual mammogram. Great idea but it’s not always the easiest thing to work into a conversation. Munchkin.com wants you to get the message across with their Buy a Duck campaign for breast cancer awareness. The adorable pink duck reminds the women you care about (and you) “Don’t Duck a Breast Exam.” You do something good and part of the $2.99 for each duck goes to the
Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fight breast cancer. Last year Munchkin donated $30,000.
But wait, you can also e-mail a duck. It’s free to create and send your personalized duck, and for every friend who opens your message, Munchkin will donate five cents to the Komen Foundation. I just had a lot of fun creating my Elvis duck and sending him out to the world. You can even keep track of how much money your duck brings in. There’s no string attached. Create your duck and count the nickels. But hurry, the ducks must complete their journey by Wednesday.
And for even more ducky fun, check out the ducks designed by celebrities and up for auction on
eBay. It’s too late to bid on Katie Couric or Brooke Shields’ ducks, but you can still take home
Matthew McConaughey’s surfer duck.
