Children Toys Deal of the Day
What: 20% Off Melissa & Doug Wooden Toys at OhToy.com
Why: Ask any parent, teacher or kid, and they’ll all say the same thing about Melissa & Doug toys--they’re the best. Not only are they fun to play with, but they’re built to last. The wooden puzzles at my local library are still going strong after years of wear and tear from exploring hands. Through the end of the month, save 20% on most Melissa & Doug toys at
OhToy.com. Here are some of our top picks:
Around the World Floor Puzzle ($9.95): This giant 48-piece floor puzzle teaches your child about the different cultures of the world. It measures almost three feet across.
Cutting Food ($15.96): This 29-piece set includes a cutting board, knife, and different food items. The special treat is the realistic “crunch” you hear when you slice your way through the set.
Puppet Theater ($143.96): Turn off the TV and put on your own show. This puppet theater is big enough for two puppeteers and is over four feet tall.
Deluxe Stamp Set ($11.96): Inspire your kids to get crafty with this set that includes 16 stamps, two ink pads and seven colored pencils. They’ll come in handy for creating one-of-a-kind greeting cards and Thank You notes.

Children Toys Deal of the Day
What: Save 25% on Zid Zid’s “In the City” Block Set
Why: If I ask you to think of blocks, do you picture wooden, square pieces with letters and numbers painted on the sides? Here’s a new way to think about them, and play with them too. Baby Find: Take-Along Teething Toys
Category:
Children Toys

What: Playskool Teething Collection
Why: As the mother of a six-month old, I know that if it gets into my daughter’s hand, it’s going into her mouth. As teething time arrives, I’m happy to have on hand a collection of
Playskool teething toys. Available exclusively at
CVS/pharmacy, the collection features a variety of baby care products. The soothing
Circle of Friends, filled with sanitized water, can be chilled in the fridge to provide relief to tender gums during teething. Similarly, the
Teething Keys have a non-toxic gel inside that can be frozen. The
Shake, Rattle & Roll boasts rolling shapes developed for easy grasping and oral exploration.
Complete your set with the
Teether links. They easily connect to a stroller or car seat strap, and the textured surface will help keep baby entertained. I keep some by the changing table, in the car, with the diaper bag, and on the bouncy seat. Not only are the teething toys helping her little mouth, they’re keeping her occupied while I squeeze in a quick shower or fix supper. They’re so affordable – buy them all.
Price: $2.49 - $4.49
Find it: CVS.com
Deal Alert: The Playkool Teething toys are now 40-50% off!

Deal of the Day: 20% Off PlasmaCars at OhToy.com
Category:
Children Toys Deal of the Day
What: 20% Off Plasma Cars at OhToy.com
Why: The PlasmaCar tops the list of best toys at my house, and it has been for almost a year. Completely kid-powered without relying on pedals or batteries, you simply turn the steering wheel from side to side to set it in motion. It’s so easy to use that my then two-year-old was zipping up and down the neighborhood with ease, and it’s built tough so that adults can join in on the fun, too. Yes, my husband and I take it for a spin around the block and it’s truly a site to see.
Through the end of the month, you can get a PlasmaCar on sale for just $55.96 with free shipping at
ohtoy.com. Choose from blue, green, red, yellow, purple and pink.

Toy Find: Mega Fun with Mega Rig Blaze Brigade
Category:
Children Toys
What: Matchbox Toys Mega Rig Blaze Brigade Building System
Why: A fire truck in and of itself is a very cool toy, but what if you can create 20 different vehicles with it? Even better. With the Blaze Brigade Building System, you start out with a ladder truck, and then you can take it apart à la LEGOs and build something else. It also has flashing lights and sirens for on the scene action, and a set of “water canons” that actually work. Just be sure to tell your little firefighter not to point them at anyone’s face.
Ages 4 and up

Hot New Toy Alert: Get up and MOOV
Category:
Children Toys
What: MOOV
Why: The MOOV is making its away around the blogosphere, and I have to admit it is one cool toy. Actually, it’s four toys—a scooter, trike, racer and carver—all rolled into one. Think of it as a DIY vehicle kit for five-year-olds and up that uses wooden and plastic Lego-like pieces to make a toy your kid can actually ride down the street. Brilliant if you ask me. So the MOOV motto says it all: Make it, Move it.
Want one? You’ll have to wait because it’s not available in the U.S. just yet. Even folks in the U.K. will have to wait until June.
