Baby Find: Happy Baby on Your Hip or in A Chair
Category:
Children Travel

What:
Snazzy Baby Convertible Travel Seat and Carrier
What: Get out with style. Get out with less gear.
Snazzy Baby has developed a
3-in-1 traveler. The
Combo is a hip-carrier with the flexibility that allows baby to face either out or in. As it’s alter ego, It turns a regular chair into a high chair. There’s also the bonus use as a secure seat in a shopping cart. It’s all rolled (literally) into one, making it a must have for travel and clutter-free errand running. There’s even a clip for your keys, phone, or Baby’s pacie.
So go ahead and plan lunch out after you’ve stocked up on home supplies. The carrier is comfortable and lightweight, with gel-cushioned straps. You’ll want to read through the directions and practice setting it up at home first, but once you’ve got the hang of it, the 3-in-1 is easy to use and tote. Snazzy Baby recommends that you use the carrier with your baby once he has good head control, usually at about four months. Now you know the solution for easy outings: the
Deluxe 3-in-1 Plus Combo.

Time-Savers: This Back Seat Organizer is Also a Life-Saver
Category:
Solutions Travel
What: High Road Kids’ Back Seat Car Organizer
Why: If your kids are old enough to be out of a car seat, then you know that if they’re bored or cranky or in the mood for battle, a ten-minute trip to the supermarket can feel like a 10-hour road trip. I always have plenty of things for my girls to access in the car, but then the back seat looks like a war zone, with with juice bottles, puzzle books and pencils all over the place.
I had one of those behind-the-seat organizers, but they were too hard to reach. Not so with this back seat helper from High Road.
There are plenty of pockets to hold just about everything including juice boxes, snacks, DVDs, toys and games. It’s tall enough for a child in a booster seat to access and even strong enough to draw or play on. An added bonus, if you park it between two kids it will be harder for them to fight. Not there yet? Let’s just say that’s why I got a minivan.

Flying with Kids? Here’s How to Fly with Less Stress
Category:
Travel
So, you’re planning a family trip this spring? Going by plane? Good luck! Family air travel is at best a necessary evil and at worst a nightmare that takes your entire vacation to recover from. You can do your best to prevent the worst by packing some of our favorite items to make your trip smoother. So grab your favorite carry-on, wheels are optional, and here’s to a smooth flight.
If you haven’t already invested in a portable DVD player, do it before your trip. It’s a modern day lifesaver I wish I had when my children were little. This version from Axion
($79.99) has three easy-to-use buttons and a bright 7” screen. Just don’t do what my friend did and forget the DVDs.
Nobody’s flying happy if mom isn’t happy - and warm. There’s nothing like a soft cardigan to ease into those temperature changes in the airport and on the plane. Splurge on an ultra-soft cashmere cardigan
from Lands’ End. You’ll feel first class all the way.
The only problem with the Travel Buddy Pillow ($20) is that everyone is going to want one. My daughter has already “borrowed” mine. This terrific travel pillow is light and comfortable, great for naps on car trips for you or in the car seat. Because it’s filled with tiny microbeads it can even get wet. .
It’s bad enough I have to pack for my kids, I don’t want to worry about my husband. That’s why I love the Perfect Travel Kit from Urth Skin Solutions with 2 oz of face wash, shaving lotion, scrub and face balm in a mesh bag, all airplane friendly. The products have ginseng, tea and other natural ingredients and a subtle fragrance. The kit is $59 with an automatic 10% discount.
Tip: Read our Traveling with Kids Made Easy Guide before your next trip.

Five Steps to a Spicy Valentine’s Getaway
Category:
Valentine's Day Travel
1. Make the Plan: It’s no too late to book a trip or a local room for the night. If you are flexible about your destination you can get great last minute deals through websites like Travelocity
. Many hotel chains offer Valentine and romance packages that include extras like champagne. Check out specials at Hilton, Hyatt, Kimpton and Wyndham.
2. Prep the Playing Field: If the winter months have left things a little ragged down there, get everything in ship shape before you go. Then you can get right down to business upon arrival if needed. For those that like to shave, try Bikini Kitty’s Clean-Up Kit ($39.95). If waxing is your thing I recommend Bliss Poetic Waxing
($45).
3. Pack Right: Leave the giant family-friendly bags at home. Treat yourself to some stylish adult luggage to take when your packing list does not include Cheerios and sippy cups. Try Brics Life Rolling Duffel
in pink ($495). Bric’s luggage is of exceptional quality and gorgeous Italian design.
4. Dress the Part: Surprise your sweetie with some new lingerie. I love the Iona set (Bra
and thong
) from Freya. Freya bras fit beautifully so you can wear them everyday, not just for seduction.
5. Add Some Special Ingredients: Kama Sutra Strawberry Dreams Weekender Kit
is tiny so it can be slipped into any bag or bedside drawer. It includes Oil of Love, Stimulating Pleasure Balm, Sweet Almond Massage Oil, Love Liquid sensual lubricant, Honey Dust with feather applicator. A lot of adult products have a cheesy bachelorette party packaging, but Kama Sutra has a sophisticated look befitting someone over 21.

MomFinds Solution: No Throw Ends the Sippy Cup Toss
Category:
Children Solutions Travel

What: No Throw from Twin Beginnings
Why: We know the battle too well. Your child learns that they can pitch their sippy cup and you’ll have to retrieve it. To little ones it becomes a game. To moms it becomes a nuisance. For years moms have tried to tether their sippy cups to shopping carts, strollers and high chairs in the hopes that it would deter the child from tossing it. Often the best inventions come from necessity and this was the case for Karla and Karen, twin sisters, who formed
Twin Beginnings.
Their frequent travels left them frustrated with their toddlers who delighted in pitching their cups all over planes, trains and automobiles! So they invented the
No Throw, a simple fabric band with velcro at one end and leash styled handle at the other. You simply secure the velcro around the sippy cup, or even bottle, and then attach the leash end to their stroller, high chair or any belt that will hold it in place. The patterns are cute and best of all, the product works like it should.

Travel Find: Holiday Travel Just Got Easier with UPPAbaby
Category:
Children Strollers Travel
What: G-Lite Stroller from UPPAbaby
Why: A small child. Holiday air travel. It’s enough to strike fear in the hearts of parents everywhere. The last thing you need to be worrying about is lugging around a heavy stroller. Especially in that dreaded moment when you must extract your child, collapse the stroller, and get it through the scanner, while balancing said child on your hip and maneuvering through the line.
The G-Lite stroller from UPPAbaby is the lightest full-size umbrella stroller available, weighing just over eight pounds. It’s surprisingly durable for its size, with shock-absorbing suspension on extra-wide wheels, an easy-access basket, and elevated rear frame and long handles to reduce toe-stubs. Best of all, it opens and closes easily, and comes with an easy-carry shoulder strap. This is one stroller that can totally go the distance (so to speak) when it comes to holiday travel.

Holiday Travel: Keep Skin Fresh on the Road
Category:
For the Home Bedroom Mom Beauty Seasonal Travel

What: Borba Atomizer,
Boots No7 Quick-Thinking 4-in-1 Wipes
Why: Taking a road trip with little ones can be a strain. Not just on your nerves, but on your skin as well. Two simple products to take along the way are the
Borba Atomizer and
Boots No7 Quick-Thinking 4-in-1 Wipes.
Use the Atomizer to freshen your skin, a stuffy car, a stale hotel room, or musty guestroom. When misted over clothing the atomizer deposits antioxidants that will literally soothe your skin while you sleep. Mist pillows and linens just before bedtime. I’ve used it on my car upholstery after transporting a wet dog and it really made a difference. (Note, because its contents are under pressure, you can’t bring it on the plane).
The
Boots wipes come in a handy pack of 30. Not too many load you down, but enough for a trip. The wipes are gentle and fragrance-free wipes. They remove makeup, but don’t dry out your skin. So while staying with relatives, you can skip your whole cleansing, toning and moisturizing routine and just use these. I especially like the size of these wipes, not so big that I’m tempted to stuff half back in the bag, nor too small that I need several.
Price: Atomizer $21,
Wipes $6.99
