Forget Finding The Perfect Pair Of Jeans….Every Pair Looks Great with Booty Pop Panties

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

Booty Pop PantiesWhat: Booty Pop Panties

Why: I have four kids.  Need I say more?  My once firm and cute “lady lumps” are now a little bit lower and a lot flatter, making every pair of jeans I own less flattering. I’ve tried the lotions, potions and tush exercising motions, but nothing has made a quicker improvement than the amazing Booty Pop Panties.

I was a bit skeptical at first.  I thought they would make me look fat or lumpy, but I was surprisingly impressed.  Like padded bras for sagging breasts, these padded panties lift your bottom and give it a nice rounded shape.  I couldn’t stop asking everyone I saw “How does my butt look?” I didn’t tell my family I was wearing it out to dinner and also to a baseball game, so I was excited to hear my husband and sister compliment me on how well my jeans fit. I may not need to wear them everyday, but I will when I need a little pick me up.

Available in seven bootylicious colors, in Sweet (S), Sweeter (M) and Sweetest (L).

Price: $28

Find it: bootypoppanties.com

Style Solution: Say Goodbye to the Dreaded VPL

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

Soma Vanishing Edge UnderwearWhat: Soma Vanishing Edge Underwear

Why: Not being a big fan of the thong, whenever a panty promises a line-free silhouette, I perk up. I have two pairs of pants that I love and can finally fit into again, but I don’t wear them because of the dreaded visible panty line. So far none of the thong alternatives have lived up to their promise.

So, when I saw that Soma’s new Vanishing Edge collection promised to “erase lines forever,” I thought what the heck, and guess what! These panties deliver. I tried the microfiber bikini and the hipster and they’re super comfortable and light. Just make sure you order a size up as the Web site suggests.

But the stay-where-you’re-supposed-to secret is in a thin layer of silicone at the leg openings. You don’t feel it, but it keeps the panties from budging an inch. I rescued my skinny pants from the closet and put them on over the Vanishing Edge and sure enough, not a panty line in sight. I’m sold.

Price: $12 or 3 for $27

Find it: soma.com

Body by Victoria - A Mom Body’s Best Friend

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

The pregnancy aftermath has not been so kind to my, er, rack (though I had a great streak there while I was nursing).  Braless, under-wireless – not an option for me.  These babies need to be lifted, shaped, enhanced – you name it – and Victoria’s Secret is still my go-to girl to get the job done.

They have great sales, their undies are pretty, and their Body by Victoria collection is heaven sent.  For everyday wear under everything from tee-shirts to blouses to strappy dresses, their Body bras are comfortable and effective – two words that I unfortunately need in a bra.

image
I love the hidden wire bra ($36-$38) – super comfortable, with mild push up action and seamless coverage. And I’m curious to try their wireless bra – I’m skeptical but it sure looks lifty. ($42-$48)

image
Also on my list – their new IPEX™ wireless cami.  I’m not even comfortable walking around the house without a bra for fear of the sudden appearance of a National Geographic camera crew – but this little number looks like it might do the trick. ($48-$51)

image
The perfect companion to a comfortable, flattering bra? Why some comfortable, flattering panties of course!  They boast that their new Body by Victoria Bare-Ultimate Panties “are the smoothest, most invisible panties ever” – and I believe them.  Right now they’re 3 for $30 at VictoriasSecret.com.  After all, nothing comes between me and my Calvins – except my undies.

Tip: Read our Post-Baby Shapewear Guide for even more fabulous ideas.

What Real Moms Wear To Bed - After Baby

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

imageimage

Just Give Me Good Underwear

Now that baby is here, your sleep habits have probably (make that definitely) changed.  For me, it was more than just waking up at unseemly hours.  At the risk of divulging too much information, prior to baby, I was an “au natural” sleeper. No jammies.  No nighties.  No nothing.  But nowadays, nudie isn’t so practical.

Not surprisingly, I went for simplicity and comfort.  On the top, Mimi Maternity’s seamless soft-cup nursing bra ($38).  It’s free of underwire, so there’s no jabbing or poking.  The clasps are easily worked with one (half-asleep) hand.

For the bottom, Gilligan & O’Malley Cotton Hipsters ($10 for 3).  It’s a no frills approach that lets me get the most out of those precious few hours I can string together between feedings.  Don’t worry, though, I’ve still got sexy undiesicon, just not for sleeping!

MomFinds Solution: Banish Back Bulge with the Unbelievabra

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

image

What: Unbelievabra

Why: Most bras can get the job done up front, but no matter how great the girls look, a bit of back bulge and it’s all over. You can try covering up with a camisole or tee, or you can start off right with the Unbelievabra.

I tried the “Mini” ($68) and while it’s more bra than I’m used to, it’s surprisingly comfortable, providing me the “oomph” I need in front and a smooth look in back. The lightweight Lycra fabric felt great against my skin, especially when I wore it on a rare work-out day. And the straps never budged, a first for me.

If you need more shaping and smoothing, go for the “Ultimate” ($75), Long enough to tuck into your waistband, it promises not to roll and to tame not only back bulge, but the dreaded muffin top.

Because it’s not an ordinary bra, you need to follow the instructions on the Web site to measure for your perfect size. If I can do it, you can do it.

Find it: unbelievabra.com

Deal Alert: Free shipping in the U.S. Order by Feb. 29 for these prices. After March 1, the Mini will cost $75 and the Ultimate, $85.

Mom Find: Sassybax Underwire Bra for a New Year and a New You

Category: Mom Fashion Underwear

imageWhat: Sassybax Underwire Bra for a New Year and a New You

Why: Even the trimmest, fittest mommies will tell you that when it comes to wearing a tank top, there is often much consternation in the mom’s group. Why? Quite simply, your belly isn’t the only thing that has a hard time bouncing back after Baby. Whether it’s because you’ve relegated yourself to a more industrial strength bra for that much-needed post baby “lift” or you just can’t seem to lose the back pudge, this bra from Sassybax is like nothing you’ve tried. It covers smoothly and completely but is comfortable and, most importantly, totally slims, trims and streamlines your back. Whether you’re wearing a cashmere sweater or a J. Crew tank, you will look 10,000 times better. That’s all there is to it.

Price: $65

Top Five Products for a Spicy Holiday

Category: Dad Holidays Mom Bath and Body Fashion Underwear Top Five

Give your partner something busy parents really need, romance. Make some time in this hectic season for the two of you. Here are some tools to wake up your senses so that both of you can have a truly memorable interlude.

image1. Light a Jimmy Belasco Absinthe Soy Candle ($29) to set the stage for love. Get in the mood with seductive scents of lime peel, patchouli, amber, anis, lavender and sandalwood. I love smelling this candle even when it isn’t burning. I take smell hits off it when I walk by and instantly say, “ahhh” You’ve got to look over the hip sleeve designs that you can choose from.

image2. Chocolate and many spices are considered aphrodisiacs. Ethel’s Chocolates combines both in their sweet and spicy seasonal collection. There are six amazing flavors, cranberry and pecan pie covered in milk chocolate; egg nog, gingerbread and orange spice covered in dark chocolate; and pumpkin pie covered in white chocolate. The result is truly a sensual experience. My favorites are the gingerbread and pumpkin pie. Pair a few of these chocolates with some bubbly and you and your lover are headed towards bliss. 24 Piece Seasonal Collection $27, Holiday Tower $50.

image3. Continue the theme of chocolate and spices with Apivita’s Euphoria collection.  Apivita is a neat Greek company that makes all natural bath and aromatherapy products. The Euphoria scent is based on a delicious combination of white chocolate, vanilla and white tea you and your partner will enjoy. Either have a relaxing bath for two with the milk bath, or just smell good for a night together using the body milk or eau de toilette ($35 for Promo Pack.

image4. Has your honey been naughty? Punish him with this sexy Satin Bra and Skirted Thong Set ($52) or this Flyaway Babydoll (the babydoll comes in regular and plus sizes) ($48) by Cinema Etoile.

image5. Add a little flavor to your bedroom routine. Try a little Flower Balm (for you) or Rocket Balm (for him)--both for $14.95. Rub a dab in all the right places and prepare for a tasty and exciting twist on things. If that does not interest you take a peek at the other “Fun for Two” products at Secrets of the Ladies Room.
