Kid Find: It’s Good to Be Stinky

Category: As Seen In Children's Fashion

image

What: StinkyKids Tees

Why: Dress fun and give back to the community.  That’s what StinkyKids is about.  It’s fashion tees featuring one of several characters, each with his or her own story about friends and hobbies.  Pick a shirt in short or long sleeves for infant, toddler, or mommy.  Creative mom and founder, Britt Menzies, was inspired by her own “little stinker” to start a business, and donate part of her proceeds to the fight against cancer, exemplifying the StinkyKids motto: “Always be a leader of good.” Here’s a good idea: get a matching mommy shirt to wear with your kiddo.  StinkyKids was featured on The Today Show and in several magazines.

Price: $28 - $44

Category: As Seen In Mom Fashion Shoes Trend Alert

Mom Find: Sew Over Project Runway

Category: As Seen In Mom

imageWhat: Limited Edition Project Runway Computerized Sewing Machine by Brother

Why: Did you catch the season premiere?  Wasn’t it fab?  That Rami is pretty impressive (his dress reminded me of something JLo wore to a red carpet event), and I think Elisa (the one who designed that awful blue dress with a train wreck at the back) should have been booted off first.  You?

If the first episode from Season 4 was enough to bring out your inner designer—the one who’s always wanted create outfits for your kids or, if you’re like me, the one who should be hemming her own pants, today’s your lucky day.  You can be just like a Project Runway contestant, minus the camera and the stress.  Brother has released a limited-edition Project Runway Sewing Machine designed for both novice and experienced seamstresses alike.  Check it out.  Maybe you can whip us something for the holidays?

Price: Starting at $299

Find it: brother-usa.com

Tip: Can’t get enough of Project Runway?  Play the Project Runway Fantasy Game—yes, just like your husband’s Football Fantasy League—only better.

As Seen on Oprah: Cindy Crawford Lives in these T-Shirts

Category: As Seen In Celebrities Jewelry Mom Fashion Tees

imageIf you were watching Oprah the other day, you got to peek into supermodel Cindy Crawford’s closet. So what does a mom who can wear just about anything by anyone, spend most of her time in? T-shirts by Promomcouture. “I love these T-shirts because they’re all about being a mom, but I think they’re cute,” she’s quoted as saying on a show recap at Oprah.com.

I can see what she likes about these tees. They’re clever and colorful and look really comfy. I like the Grateful Mom tee and especially this time of year, Vote for Mom. They’re $38 each and if you buy two tees you get a free subscription to Redbook. (Oprah must love that!)

imageWhat else does Cindy love? Well, she’s pretty fond of the photo pendant created by Kelly Gerber, her mother-in-law. Unfortunately we’re not related to Kelly so the pendant will set us back $2,400.  But you can find similar, more affordable pieces in our Personalized Jewelry for Moms Guide.

So I’ll just stick with the T-shirts. To see more cool tees, check out our Hot Tees for Moms Guide. I have my eye on the light blue Peace T-shirt on sale for $14 at grumpygirls.com.

Now I’ll confess “my stuck on a desert island, I’ll never get rid of it T-shirt”, is my incredibly soft souvenir tee from a festival in my old neighborhood in Washington, DC. I’ve had this shirt for...let’s just say if it was a person it would just be old enough to vote.

How about you? What shirt do you live in? The one they’ll have to tear from your body with you kicking and screaming?
