Would You Splurge on this Jewelry on Father’s Day?
Category: Father's Day Dad Good Question Poll
If you’re a mom who has been lucky enough to get a killer piece of jewelry as a gift, you may have felt it was too much, but I bet you kept it. Now, did you think about returning the favor?
For all of you who are ready to take the plunge, check out the designs of Luis Morais. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have sported his pieces which incorporate diamonds, leather, beads, snakes and skulls. The collection can be worn by men and women, so if you both like it, you can share.
The Big Skull Bracelet pictured here is made of sandalwood beads and 14k gold with diamonds on the skull...yes, diamonds. Cost: $2,415. Or if that’s way out of the budget, you can pick up the black Diamond Cross Bracelet for $910.
So, tell us.

Father’s Day Wish List from MomFinds Dad Shawn
Category: Father's Day Dad Top Five
We moms got to chime in with our own mother’s day gifts, so we asked our husbands to tell us what they wanted for Father’s Day. Here’s what Lisa’s husband, Shawn, wants.
1. Craftsman 10 inch Table Saw with Stand: The only reason I’ve never bought myself one of these was because I always assumed they were really expensive. Well, that, and the fact I will almost certainly injure myself gravely with it. But it turns out they’re pretty cheap ($89.99), so I can’t afford not to assume the risk. Though I should probably get these too.
2. Cool Designy Ties: From the guys who brought you Threadless, comes a higher-end offering: Naked and Angry ties. Maybe some day I’ll get to buy my own design on a tie, but in the mean time, I really dig Floral Regiment ($105), as girlie as that sounds. And what’s a better Father’s Day present than a tie?
3. Geeky Book: I figured I’d mainly be into the slick, techy photos of these old school machines, but Core Memory: A Visual Survey of Vintage Computers ($35) is actually a fun book to read. The strange, random history of how we got to the current era—the era where you’re reading my book review on a mommy blog—is chronicled (pun-intended) in Chronicle Books’ lush visual history of computing.
4. Coolest actor. Coolest poster. So, it’s unlikely that any member of my family would ever shell out “one large” for the original (even the French one’s $800!) so I’d be happy with a well-framed $12 reprint of the Bullitt movie poster. But that’s unlikely as well, since, inexplicably, the wife isn’t a McQueen fan.
5. Hi-Fi: I require the highest possible fidelity. When I was growing up, your fidelity level was proudly and prominently evinced through sheer size—the bigger the speakers, the more deserving you were of respect. Nowadays, though, you want your speakers to be small to invisible—so the sound seems to be emanating from the heavens themselves. Looks like Bose figured it out with their Virtually Invisible Speakers ($298.00) . A speaker in the ceiling? That’s what I’m talking about.
Father’s Day Wish List from MomFinds Dad Nigel
Category: Father's Day Dad
My husband, Nigel, knows he’s not getting any of these big ticket items for Father’s Day. It’s not that he doesn’t deserve them, it’s just that well, when this guy dreams, he dreams big.
1. I thought Nige was happy with his tough, no-frills Timex. I had no idea he had his eyes on this high-priced Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Two-Tone Mens Watch 116523 . If you really want to know, it’s almost $12K. I think we can afford the second hand.
2. He really loves his music, and I’d love to buy him his other big wish, the Bose Acoustic Wave Stereo System with a CD changer ($1378). I’d even throw in a nice pair of headphones so I don’t have to listen to Judas Priest.

3. Now this is more like it, a lightweight one-speed aluminum cruiser from Caloi ($269). I could swing this for Father’s Day next year, and then maybe I’d take my own bike out more often.
