For the Home: Start Your Spring Cleaning with Fruits and Passion
Category:
For the Home
What: Fruits and Passion Home Fragrance in Tulipe and Lavandula
Why: Spring is in the air, and now it can be in your house, too! Start your spring cleaning binge with a bottle of Fruits and Passion in Tulipe. It’s not your typical home fragrance in that it’s completely un-fussy and doesn’t try to blend too many aromas to create any sort of mood. Rather, it’s a simple and light scent that truly brightens up a room but isn’t obvious. It also comes in a pretty, sleek bottle. So pretty you might even mistake it for perfume. Which would probably be OK, too.

Dropps. One tiny dissolving pac contains enough detergent to wash a load of laundry, and it gets the job done nicely. No measuring, no messy spills, no guilt. Just good, clean fun. Yes, laundry can be fun.

A Find: The Night Light, Reimagined
Category:
For the Home
What: d Light Huggable Pillow by Diana Lin Design
Why: A huggable light? Suffice to say I’ve never reviewed a product like this one before. But I was absolutely charmed by the innovative d Light Huggable Pillow by Diana Lin Design. These 12x12 inch soft pillows hold 12 LED lights embedded within cushy silicone bubbles. When lit, the pillow emits a warm, diffused light not unlike sunlight. The pillow can be illuminated using four AA batteries or a six-volt AC adapter.
I’m using mine as a night light in my son’s nursery. Although my two-year-old and I don’t usually agree when it comes to matters of style (I think he would choose a life-size Elmo for his walls if he had the choice), he absolutely loves this pillow, too. It’s the perfect compromise—I love the modern look it gives my son’s nursery and he loves the pillow’s comforting glow. Available in three colors.

Get Organized: No More Paint Chips Loose in Your Purse
Category:
For the Home Storage/Organizing

What: The Decorating Assistant
Why: Developed by women, the
Decorating Assistant is a kit to organize everything you need while decorating. The product includes folders for each room to hold fabric swatches, paint chips and other samples, and a file box to keep them in. The folders also hold business cards and other papers you may need while out scouting furniture or window treatments. The file box fits into a cute and easy to carry tote. The tote has room for water bottle, tape measure, cell phone, etc. so you can carry it instead of a purse on your decorating missions. With this kit you no longer need to go through your pockets and the dark recesses of your handbag to find that missing color swatch.
A part of the kit that I really appreciate is a magnet board on which you can set out tiny (but to scale) magnet furniture to layout your room. My husband and I just finished redecorating his office, and the little magnets were perfect for trying out different furniture arrangements before we bought the furniture. The decorating assistant would make a great housewarming gift for folks who are planning to do their own decorating, or a different and useful gift for an expectant mom planning a nursery.
