The Best Maternity Finds of 2007

Category: Maternity Maternity Jeans Maternity Fashion Maternity Underwear Top Five

It was another fabulous year to be pregnant and stylish.  Here are some of the best fashion finds we found on the web in 2007.  Enjoy!

image
Best Top: Japanese Weekend Jersey Wrap Top ($76): The daring V-neck and the sumptuous fabric come together to bring out that healthy pregnancy glow, while the wrap style and longer length give you room to grow. Wear it until baby is born and save it for future pregnancies.

Best Dress: Momzee Maternity Wrap Dress ($104): The only maternity dress you’ll need for work or play, the soft, long drape shows off your bump and your height. Also available in cranberry and charcoal.

Best Jeans: Gap Full-Panel Fabulous Jeans ($68): Get the fabulous look and flattering fit of designer denim for half the cost with these Gap Fabulous Maternity Jeans. The comfortable full-tummy panel stretches to grow with your belly and provides extra support when you need it most. Whether you’re short, tall or average, there’s a perfect length just for you.

Best Lingerie: Belabumbum Lotus Lace Bra ($30.56): Belabumbum gives new meaning to lingerie for pregnant moms. Meaning ‘beautiful bottom’ in Portuguese, their Lotus Lace Seamless Nursing Bra makes your breasts look beautiful, too.  But the best part: clasps easily open for breastfeeding access.

Best Solution: Ingrid & Isabel Maternity Bella Band icon ($26):  For that period when you’re getting too big for your pre-pregnacy clothes but too small to bother with an entire new wardrobe.  And this year, they added one with sexy lace trim.

Hot Topic: Soft Porn on MomFinds?

Category: Hot Topics Maternity Maternity Fashion Maternity Underwear Mom Fashion Breastfeeding

imageIf you agree with a few Kiwis who think that this picture of a pregnant model wearing lingerie form Hot Milk constitutes as soft porn, well then by-golly we’re guilty of being porn peddlers at MomFinds.

If you remember, last fall we featured a racy image of a pregnant model in red lingerie by Eve Alexander—with her round belly and come-hither look.  If you ask me, it’s ten times more provocative than the headless image in the center of the storm (it’s all about the eyes for me).

Are these images too explicit?  Teetering on soft porn and offensive?  That’s what some women are complaining about in New Zealand.  Really.

imageCall me Larry Flynt, but I think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a picture of a pregnant women decked out in sexy lingerie.  More power to the pregnant woman who doesn’t let a big belly of baby get in the way of her sexuality.  What’s offensive to me are those horrendous maternity/nursing bras that look like something out of grandma’s closet!  No thank you very much.

And I actually have one these Eve Alexander bras.  Not only are they sexy, but they’re comfy and fabulous for nursing.  Will have to try out the Hot Milk when it gets to the States.

What do you think of these pictures of pregnant women in sexy lingerie?
