Fashion Find for Little Girls: Custom Headbands
Category: Children's Fashion
What: Design Your Own Headband at Mom4life.com
Why: When my daughter was a baby she didn’t have much hair. Unless she was decked out in pink from head to toe, there was always a risk that somebody would ask what “his” name was. I didn’t actually have to cut her hair until she was four, so we went through a lot of barrettes, headbands and sun hats.
I wish the custom headbands from Matica Designs were around back then. The company’s founder Mindy Cervantes created these comfy and cute headbands for her own baby daughter. At Mom 4 Life, a Web site that features products created by moms, you can choose the band and the flower and design one for your baby or little girl.
It’s a great way to get the perfect hair accessory for a special occasion dress or she may want to wear it every day. The headbands are nice and stretchy, but you can even provide your little girl’s head measurement for a perfect custom fit.
Price: $16.99 for infants to 24 months; $17.99 for 2-6 years

I've struggled trying to find some simple, but elegant headbands. Something that would mesh well with dress slacks and jeans. My biggest problem is that most of the headbands I buy are either too plain looking or -- over the top gaudy! I've been on a quest to find some that look classy enough to wear to a formal dinner -- and also for a typical shopping day at the mall.I'd like to report that http://www.Nordsrtom.com has some great styles (but a bit expensive - close to $90 for some). If you are looking for a great alternative (and priced well) I would try http://www.Pinkpewter.com Originals. Some great styles from a new brand that is really making a splash in the hair accessories market. I saw them at a high end salon near where I live and they were hot -- had to buy one (I bought "Debbie")....
Anyway - hope this helps!
