Category: Giveaways

Happy Leap Day!  It’s not every year we get this bonus day, so we’re in the mood to celebrate.  Our friends at Hanes have put together a goodie basket filled with tees, socks, underwear, shirts and more for the entire family valued at over $200.  And to make the prize even sweeter, they’re throwing in an extra $50 gift certificate for one lucky winner to use on Hanes.com

How do you enter?  Tell us how you’ll spend Leap Day.  Working as usual or taking the day off?  Bonus points if you’re celebrating a leap year birthday.  Leave a comment below no later than Sunday, 3/2/08 at 11:59 PM ET. (One winner will be chosen during a random drawing and will be notified via e-mail to receive the prize.)

THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED

Congrats to Janet M. of Afton, OK!

I will be working as usual!

Posted by Cat  on  02/29  at  10:03 AM

We're having a run of the mill day here. Kids are too little to comprehend the idea of Leap Year.

Posted by Heather  on  02/29  at  10:28 AM

Pretty much just the same as usual - work for me and school/daycare for the kiddos. We are driving down to visit a friend of mine for the weekend, but that's not anything specific to Leap Year - just that her daughter's birthday is on Sunday. smile

Posted by Deb - Mom of 3 Girls  on  02/29  at  10:44 AM

So far I have spent it having an unsuccessful 4D ultrasound and then watching Sesame Street. I hope I can at least get out of making dinner wink

Posted by Aardvark  on  02/29  at  10:59 AM

I tried to explain to my 4-year-old about what today was, but she didn't seem too interested or curious. Today is just a regular day for us too, although in my daughter's class they are celebrating a classmate's birthday (does that count for bonus points?).

Posted by Shimona  on  02/29  at  11:07 AM

Not quite how I had planned on spending leap day, but I'm spending it home with my (almost) 11 month daughter, who is sick with multiple ear infections.
I'm dealing with way too much poop (an unfortunate side-effect of the antibiotic), and she's got a bad diaper rash. I just hope she feels better soon, its heart-breaking.

Posted by Brett  on  02/29  at  11:08 AM

Packing for a kid-free weekend trip with my hubby!

Posted by Amy  on  02/29  at  11:23 AM

Today is no different for us today. Just normal household chores, might go see a movie tonight.

at work watching the snow fall outside of my window...and hoping it slows down before I have to leave to drive home at 5:00!

Posted by Amy  on  02/29  at  11:55 AM

Most people don't even really think about Leap Year as being any big deal. And that's the way I always thought until I watched a news story this morning about a woman who was born on Feb. 29th, and only gets to celebrate her birthday on Leap Year, once every 4 years! Wow!

Posted by Mary Boldin  on  02/29  at  12:04 PM

household chores, nothing special

Posted by jeanette malan  on  02/29  at  12:08 PM

I started entering sweepstakes and find it rather relaxing sometimes.

Posted by Ariana Mullins  on  02/29  at  02:25 PM

I consider leap day a personal holiday. On leap day I do anything and everything "I" want to. A "ME" day once every four years is the least you can do for yourself.

Home with a bad cold, unfortunately:-(.

We spent the lunch hour at our granddaughter's day care special luncheon. Many pictures were taken. The kids sang 4 songs and were cute as the dickens. The food was as delicious as any Thanksgiving dinner I have ever been to and believe I've been to many! My daughter-in-law made mashed potatoes and gravy and that sure hit the spot. there was turkey and so many dishes to select from and top-notch desserts just like Mom and Grandma always made.
