Trend Alert: Fitness Shoes That Tone Your Legs While You Walk

Category: Mom Fashion Shoes Trend Alert

The Trend: MBTs and FitFlops - Smart, Sporty Shoes for Sexy Legs

imageEver since MomFinds first reviewed MBT sneakers last year, I’ve been obsessed with them and thinking of ways to convince my husband why I need a $250 shoe.  When I finally did get them, they were worth every penny and then some.

If you haven’t yet tried them, you absolutely must.  It’s like walking on sand (minus the sand), and after just a few minutes, you really start to feel the burn.  Wear them while you run your errands, on your lunch break, any time you’re on your feet, and you’ll notice results.  Not only will you have better-looking legs (really), but your posture will perk up, too.

The secret is the thick, curved sole that forces you to use every muscle in your body.  A few folks have asked if they’re Heelies (uh, no!), and don’t be surprised by the occasional “What is she thinking” stare.  Little do they know you’re toning and firming all those loose bits with every step you take.  You’ll have the last laugh! image

The Brits must be on to something because they’ve come up with yet another fitness shoe that claims to work like MBTs.  Meet FitFlops, the brand new shoe that sold out within just three days of its launch in May.  Women are going crazy for them, and the streets of London are packed with FitFlopped women walking off inches from their thighs.

They’ve made their way stateside, and at only $45, they’ll be flying off the shelves.  So if you’re not ready to commit to MBTs, take baby steps with FitFlops, and work your way up.  Either way, you’ll be hooked and saving up for your next pair.

The best thing about these shoes?  They get you excited about getting back in shape.  That, to me, is priceless.

Get your MBTs: zappos.com

Get your FitFlops: footlocker.com

I have 2 pairs of mbts (walkers and sandals) and I LOVE them. They're not that attractive but my back has never felt better and my legs look longer and leaner. I'll try the Fit Flops. Thanks for the find.

I love my fit flops! They are so comfortable that I try to coordinate them with my outfit every day.

Anyone remember Dr.Scholl's exercise sandals? They were really popular in the mid-seventies (so of course I don't remember them). They had a wooden sole with a raised toe crest to encourage a gripping action and shapely legs. They really worked too. They came back in in the 90s and you can still find them now, though they're not currently buzzworthy. Personally, I think they're much more elegant looking than MBT and FitFlops.

Well i don't think that a regular husband would give 250 $ for shoes that theoretically help toning muscles

Posted by Marriage Problems  on  12/22  at  12:11 PM

I have a friend that ordered a similar shoe from Avon (Curves brand called "Leg toning sneaker") for only $39.99. They were originally $50, but now on sale. She looks great after only 2 months and can fit into size 6 jeans (she was a 10 before). I am sold once I learned her secret and just ordered some for myself online.

I love the idea and so will my girlfriend when I get her a pair for her birthday. She always trying to find ways to stay trim so I think she will like these.

Posted by Eddie  on  02/19  at  04:57 AM

I WANT TO TRY A PAIR,BUT AVON'S WEBSITE SAYS THEY ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. WHERE CAN I FIND THEM? AND, DOES THE SIZING RUN TRUE?

Posted by lee  on  02/21  at  05:03 PM

The sizing ran pretty true for me (I ordered a size 8). I ordered mine from Amazon.com and found an Avon representative that was selling them and had several sizes to pick from. There were several other listings too. Hope this helps!

Posted by chellebrick  on  02/22  at  08:42 PM

Awesome shoes they are comfortable and cute. Are they still availabe?

Posted by Serviceslisted  on  02/25  at  11:43 AM

Don't you know, are there any available in Canada?

Posted by article writer  on  02/27  at  12:04 PM

I really believe that my back problems come partly from the shoes I wear. These look like they would be fun to try. I like a shoe that forces good posture. These look fun and of course Zappos is a great place to shop.

Looks really cool... Looks like I found what to get my girlfriend on her birthday smile

I also head some problems with shoes - I bought FitFlops in a nearest store. And I love them! It really seems to help, althought it's still onle a week since I bought them. I even wear them at home! smile

250$?It's a little mad for a husband to make his wife happy:-)

Love my FitFlops! Got them in Palm Springs prior to Oprah putting them on her show. Went to Disneylans, ate junk aNd still lost 2 pounds from walking in my Fitflops! Gone down a pant size since getting them in less than one month!

I had a pair of MBT sandals once and they were really awesome. They're VERY comfortable and they help with your posture too so that's a nice bonus.

Posted by Fitness Guruz  on  06/17  at  10:42 AM

$150 sandals? They better provide for some extra back relief or at least provide some <a href="http://www.fitnessguruz.com>fitness benefits</a> for that price tag!

Posted by Texas Junk Yards  on  07/23  at  12:39 AM

If those really work, then I have to try them. My feet are killing me at times when training.

Posted by Tanja  on  07/23  at  05:14 PM

just wondering for those of you that have these shoes... what is the most you have lost by just adding these to your daily routine. do you still go to the gym, are you on any special diets, or do you just depend on the shoes to help keep you lean, so lost in wieght and inches is?

I was looking into getting a pair but wanted to know of actual results

Thank You

What a great idea! You can get a better workout doing the things that you would normally be doing anyway. It's always nice when new products come out to get people excited about getting healthier.
