But how does it work as potty? It’s fabulous. The seat is comfy, and an innovative pull-out drawer makes cleanup a cinch. And if you have a little boy, you’ll love the soft, flexible deflector that really works.

Don't put them in pullups but use underwear.Posted by Shannon Baas on 09/26 at 11:58 AM
get a special toy that you only take out for your child after he/she doesn't just try to use the potty, but actually does.Posted by stacey bittman on 09/26 at 11:58 AM

I have two more to go to potty train out of my seven.... consistency is the key as well as encouragement.Posted by Laura @ Laura Williams' Musings on 09/26 at 12:04 PM
This is the coolest thing I've seen potty trainingwise!Posted by Suzanne D. on 09/26 at 12:09 PM
Make a big deal about it! The first time they go in the potty..clap, do a cheer, etc. If they see how proud you are about this..they are apt to try to do it again!Posted by Tonya Williams on 09/26 at 12:15 PM
Very cool potty item! Tip: My friend gives her 3 yr old son a small square of candy bar or mm's if he actually does use the potty not his pants!Posted by Linda W on 09/26 at 12:16 PM
Love how it makes a good step stool when not being used as a potty. My tip: take it easy. Don't let potty training turn into a battle of wills.Posted by Heather on 09/26 at 12:21 PM
starting potty training for my daughter next monthPosted by Sherry Russell on 09/26 at 12:30 PM
love it and need it since i am potty training twin boysPosted by megan belford on 09/26 at 12:47 PM
give them a treat/special "prize" for actually USING the potty, not just saying they triedPosted by sam feuss on 09/26 at 12:56 PM
wow My boy needs this thing! First time I see something like this!Posted by Anastasia Cooper on 09/26 at 01:00 PM
Read some good potty training children's books to your child and make it fun. It takes time, be patient and it will happen before you know it!Posted by Christina on 09/26 at 01:03 PM
It's easy to mistake "holding it in" with constipation. If your kid is holding in their poop, STOP pressuring them. Let them poop however they want to and return to the issue of potty training after they start pooping again. It can take MONTHS.Posted by Brooke on 09/26 at 01:03 PM
Float cheerios or a pieces of toilet paper in the toilet water. Have your little boy aim at that to teach them how to aim their urine.Posted by Paula H on 09/26 at 01:06 PM
give your little one time - she will let you know when the time is readyPosted by L.L. on 09/26 at 01:10 PM
Buy a few dollar store toys and give them out as milestones are reached. Mine loved this and also loved being able to pick out what they got.Posted by michelle zamora on 09/26 at 01:14 PM
I bought a bag of sweet mini herseys kisses, the cooking kind, and gave my daughter a few when she went on the potty. My son could use this potty!Posted by Rebecca Peters on 09/26 at 01:27 PM
I bribed my daughter with chocolate. Everytime she went, she got a M&M;. Of course I used lots of praise and didn't get upset if she had an accident. For boys: use Cheerios as target practice. You can also put a little water and blue food coloring in the potty, so when they go it turns green.Posted by Heather on 09/26 at 01:31 PM
Have your little boy aim for cheerios in the toiletPosted by Kallie on 09/26 at 01:35 PM
I put a few of my daughter's favorite books next to her potty to encourage her to stay until she goes!Posted by Stephanie on 09/26 at 01:39 PM
Wait until your child is ready never force potty training. Also introduce the bathroom and potty to the child get them used to it well in advance.Posted by Helen on 09/26 at 01:50 PM
New little one coming could use this. Be consistant and patient.Posted by Megan Gee on 09/26 at 01:59 PM
wonderful for me grandsonPosted by susan varney on 09/26 at 02:01 PM
I have no tips yet, but I will have to start thinking about potty training and this looks great.Posted by dana on 09/26 at 02:14 PM
Make sure to praise them!Posted by theresa on 09/26 at 02:21 PM
I used a sticker book for each time we were successful.Posted by Crystal G on 09/26 at 02:23 PM
I am not quite there yet with my first little boy but I was told that if they are wearing cloth diapers, they potty train easier since they feel wet sooner than with disposable diapers (due to the absorbent nature of disposable diapers) I hope it works when the time comes.Posted by Caryn on 09/26 at 02:27 PM
The book: Everybody PoopsAlso, bringing the child in with the same gendered parent so the child sees this as normal and as a thing that "big kids and grown ups do"
Posted by Myrna on 09/26 at 02:28 PM
My friend is due in February/Posted by Linda Moeller on 09/26 at 02:37 PM
My greatgrandmotherly advice is every child is different and what works with one does not always work with the other so keep trying and don't give up and don't compare your child with any other child not even brothers and sisters.Posted by metma8 on 09/26 at 02:44 PM
We like the old-fashioned give an M&M;each time the child is successful. Girls usually love to wear pretty panties. Let them know they can wear them until they have an accident in them, after that it's back to a diaper for a few hours. Go shopping with her and let her pick out her fave undies to build excitement. It works!Posted by heather h on 09/26 at 02:53 PM
Let them see you using the potty. My son will sit on his little potty (old ugly hand me down) when he sees me using the big one.Posted by Kristen on 09/26 at 03:01 PM
I think it works to be consistent and take them to the potty often. When they go, make a huge deal and praise them so they will want to do it again.Posted by Philip on 09/26 at 03:03 PM
I also used cheerios in the toilet plus rewardsPosted by Vicki Wurgler on 09/26 at 03:27 PM
rewards for a job well donePosted by stacy on 09/26 at 04:03 PM
Fun character underwear is a must!Posted by Christine Wember on 09/26 at 04:09 PM
M&Ms;work wonders.Posted by Dee on 09/26 at 04:15 PM
lots of praise and reward stickers!!Posted by cynthia on 09/26 at 04:45 PM
Bribery works great...I keep a bunch of small toys from our local dollar store and the kids really love it.Posted by Margaret Smith on 09/26 at 04:48 PM
Building up excitement to use the potty, encouraging words, and lots of praise!Posted by Pamela on 09/26 at 05:35 PM
What a great thing to use!Posted by Caroline Hileman-Schaffer on 09/26 at 05:45 PM

When I potty trained my oldest son I put a Cheerio in the toilet and made it a game to pee in the potty and sink the Cheerio. My son always loved the game and it made him want to use the potty.Posted by Lisa Garner on 09/26 at 06:09 PM

Let them do it on their own time. It will happen!Posted by Naomi on 09/26 at 07:54 PM
Keep a daily chart and give stars for good results.Posted by Tasha Jimenez on 09/26 at 08:05 PM
we're not quite to the potty training stage but almost... i heard somewhere that the best way to train boys is to put some cheerios in the toilet and let them aim!Posted by Jess P. on 09/26 at 08:10 PM
how cutePosted by nicole on 09/26 at 08:10 PM
I always used sticker reward charts, once they filled a line , they could pick from a prize jar, once they filled the whole page, they got to go somewhere cool (the zoo..etc)Posted by Jennifer on 09/26 at 08:18 PM
This would be great for my granddaughter who just turned 1.Posted by Kathleen Luman on 09/26 at 08:20 PM
Bribery. #1 -- one M&M;#2 -- two M&M;'sPosted by Carol Lambert on 09/26 at 08:21 PM
Make sure to congratulate your little one...I've even seen where people take a picture of their child next to the toilet the first time they use it properly. I havent started potty training yet,but I'm hoping my baby will be more willing than I was...I've heard horror stories about mePosted by Mary on 09/26 at 09:13 PM
This is soo cool, I need one for my 1 and 2 year old.Posted by letitia rice on 09/26 at 09:48 PM
My tip is to remember this phase won't last forever! Thanks!Posted by Elizabeth G on 09/26 at 10:24 PM
put your child on the potty upon awakening in the am, before and after the nap(if they still take one) and before bedtimePosted by MC on 09/26 at 10:29 PM
This is an absolute must have for my son. The potty training is starting very soon!Posted by Jessica Lively on 09/26 at 10:33 PM
What a great thing to usePosted by Michael Hyneman on 09/27 at 05:16 AM
Catch baby when it is making a BM and sit on potty. This saves changing a dirty diaper and the child is used to the potty chair when old enough.Posted by Sylvia Belle on 09/27 at 05:33 AM
Reward success with stickers and M&M;'s!Posted by Tracey on 09/27 at 07:10 AM
Bribing always works for mePosted by Monica on 09/27 at 07:16 AM
I highly recommend this bookToilet Training in Less Than A Day (Mass Market Paperback)
by Nathan Azrin (Author)
We used it for our first daughter, and it worked. She only had a couple of accidents after that day, and never wet the bed at night.
Even if you don't use the whole book the way it is written, there is some great advice in there that you could use for whatever way you choose.

Start earlier rather than later. They are capable of more than we give them credit for.Posted by christy on 09/27 at 08:02 AM
offer potty every 2 hours.Posted by Vicky Boackle on 09/27 at 08:11 AM
Don't push!Posted by Mama Zen on 09/27 at 08:31 AM
Patience is key. I would also wait for the child to show signs of readiness, instead of rushing them into potty training. I think that is why little ones have 'accidents' because they just are not truly ready yet.Posted by Isabella on 09/27 at 08:35 AM
I use vidoes and books to help teach the children that I watch in my in-home babysitting business on how to go potty and this usually help them understand what to do and they usually are anxoius to try to go.Posted by Tiffany Lingrel on 09/27 at 08:47 AM
Please. Please. Please !!!Posted by Karen Gonyea on 09/27 at 08:59 AM
I haven't yet started potty training, so no tips yet!Posted by Cat on 09/27 at 09:32 AM
I found that watching your child's cues are the best guide to when to start potty training. When the child starts telling you their diaper is wet, when they stay dry through the night while wearing diapers and when they seem to be interested in the potty are all good cues to let you know that potty training can begin.Posted by Sheila on 09/27 at 09:56 AM
This is just the cutest kiddie potty!Posted by Cindy on 09/27 at 10:13 AM
Relax and don't rush the kid. If you get stressed about it, it makes the whole process bad for the kids.Posted by bebemiqui on 09/27 at 10:27 AM
this looks great! I will be potty training in the near future. It's been 7 years since I last had to potty train so I'm a bit rusty but I remember you just have to be consistent and encouraging and always make it fun!Posted by littlelatina on 09/27 at 10:27 AM
consistency is the key as well as encouragement.Posted by Jason on 09/27 at 10:35 AM
Let your husband handle it. You've carried the load long enough without any help. Now he can get caught up with the joys of parenting.Posted by Douglas Whitlow on 09/27 at 10:53 AM
they didnt have this when my kids were being potty train its great for my grandbabiesPosted by sharon kilburn on 09/27 at 12:05 PM
I love all of your tips! We are in the potty throws right now, and the only thing that has worked for my daughter (not consistently though) has been letting her run NAKED around the house. She doesn't like the stuff running down her legs and she heads straight for the toliet.Man, this seat would be nice.
Posted by Shawna on 09/27 at 12:20 PM
I don't have first hand experience with potty training... yet. But I suppose a good tip would be to start with a great looking potty seat like this one that the child will be excited to use.Posted by Janine on 09/27 at 12:26 PM
My mom taught my son by going #1 in a large mouth pickle jar - I thought she was crazy, too...but it worked!Posted by Barbara on 09/27 at 01:15 PM
Spend one whole day completely focused on potty training rewarding successes with phone calls to relatives telling child good job!Posted by Stephanie Vollowitz on 09/27 at 01:37 PM
When it comes to potty training, the earlier the better. Its natural and instinctive, children just need to know how to express. If we teach them from early on that going potty is important, then the rest is easyPosted by Resh on 09/27 at 01:40 PM
Patience! Patience! Patience! And more patience!Posted by Shelley Smith on 09/27 at 03:02 PM
My potty training tip is to not push the issue. They will learn when they are good and ready. Thank you for this great giveaway!Posted by kailani on 09/27 at 03:15 PM
The way I have been training my daughter is that I put the potty right next to the toilet, so whenever mommy goes potty, she does too!Posted by TRACI on 09/27 at 04:05 PM
This would be perfect for the next one to be potty trained. The other brand of potty is horrible.Stickers are a great way to encourage potty training.

I used Potty Training Rewards for my son and he was using the potty after just one day. This product not only supplied rewards for my son, he loved pressing the voice chip to hear what a "Big Boy" he was and then he was able to find his own chocolate reward.http://www.pottytrainingrewards.com

Posted by carol on 09/27 at 10:03 PM
I bought an inexpensive helium tank and every time my son successfully used the potty on his own, we would blow up a balloon.Posted by Renee Turner on 09/27 at 10:23 PM
I haven't started potty-training yet (soon!) but I have worked with some daycare kids and the sticker charts worked WONDERS.Also I've seen a potty watch that kids wear and it beeps at intervals (you decide) to remind kids to use the bathroom...I'll be getting one for my son when we start potty training!
