MomFarah’s Top Five Finds of 2008
Category: Children Mom Top Five
There were so many products that came across my desk this year, but if I had to choose just five it would have to be the following—chosen because they make my life easier and more comfortable as I prepare for Baby #2...with a very energetic four-year-old.
I don’t have time to hit the gym—and I don’t really want to go to the gym, but I try to squeeze in some exercise into my daily routine. These MBT Kaya Shoes ($250) are a trip because they don’t look like a fitness shoe, but they really work out my legs, thighs and butt. Every time I wear them it feels like walking on sand at the beach. Bonus points for giving me some extra height.
I don’t take much time to pamper myself, but I always make time for a little Belli Skin Care. I especially love the Elasticity Belly Oil ($42). I spritz some on my belly after I shower and rub it all over, and it’s a real treat during these cold winter months, leaving my belly soft and itch-free. And I love how it’s a spray. It’s mess-free and smells divine.
I’ve been a fan of Ingrid & Isabel for a long time—their BellaBands ($26) are genius—and I practically live in their Everyday Cami ($32). Super-stretchy and the perfect length for growing bellies...because who has time to waste tugging at a tank? Great for layering, too.
If I had to choose only one piece of clothing to wear during my pregnancy it would have to be my beloved prAna Luna Maternity Pants ($70). So versatile I can wear them dropping off my son at preschool, on my walks or even on date night with my man. They look good with everything, and the wrinkle-resistant fabric holds me in all the right places without being constricting. I feel good about myself every time I’m in them...even on my bad days.
With all the traveling, carpooling and visits with the grandparents this year, the Clek Booster Seat ($89) has been a true life-saver. It’s so easy to install it only takes a few seconds to click into the back seat, and removing it is even easier. It’s light enough for my son to carry around and it’s so compact we can leave it in the trunk. So no need to fuss about transfering our everyday car seat from one car to another.
